Top 5 Vacation Spots In Florida

Welcome to the travel diaries series that I have embarked on for this summer. I find traveling to new and different places so much fun. For me, booking the vacay is sometimes just as much fun as the actual trip itself. After all, the anticipation makes me super stoked. But hey, the actual vacation is where you make the memories, right? OK, so for the first installment of the travel diaries, I am going to give you my top five picks for destinations in Florida!

Obviously these are just my opinions since I did the research, but enjoy regardless!

1. Destin, Florida

Located in the northwest region of the Sunshine State, Destin sits on the Emerald Coast with beautiful blue-green water. With white, powdery sand and the Gulf of Mexico water, this beach destination is one of the most beautiful locations and you don’t even have to step foot into another country! Local attractions include the boardwalk, popular fishing and water parks. Destin may be the spot for you if you are looking to relax, wine and dine. Go to Destin and see what Florida’s beautiful beaches have to offer if you’re up for a nature walk!

2. Miami, Florida

If you’re looking to have a bunch of fun in the sun, look no further! Miami has a Cuban flair about it with authentic restaurants and wild nightlife. Beaches span this southeastern Florida city. Insta-worthy cafes and trendy nightclubs fill up this city with a young flair, so be sure to hit up South Beach if you can.

3. Marco Island, Florida

A beach town off the coast of the city of Naples, Marco Island is home to white, powdery sand and pristine Gulf of Mexico water as well! Marco Island may be the spot for you if you’re looking to sit back and relax at a beach resort or play golf.

4. Islamorada (Florida Keys)

This beautiful beach is a hot spot in the Florida Keys. The Keys are a wonderful vacation spot if you’re looking to soak up the sun and feel like you’re in another world, but right in the Sunshine State! No passport required. This beautiful beach resort gives you close access to Key West, Big Pine Key, Marathon and Key Largo. Relaxation at a spa, dolphin tours, fishing and snorkeling can all be accomplished at these sandy beaches.

5. Walt Disney World

Anyone who knows me well knows that I am a Disney World addict (putting it lightly). There is no way you can make it your whole life without visiting the mouse! Disney World brings out the inner child in anyone. With awesome theme parks, decadent dining, entertainment, golf, water parks and much more, you can't go wrong with a Disney vacation whether you’re 15 or 50!

So those are my picks. Any other suggestions? Sound off in the comments!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
