This post will not only feature my favorite TV shows, it offers a countdown of my top 5 choices. Most can be found on Netflix or online (totally illegally) but hey if it’s on the Internet it's fair game. These shows are a mix of genre, but each one is fantastic! I’ll offer a brief overview of each show, then rate each in terms of:

Coming in hot at number 5: Blue Mountain State
This show is perfect for anyone in high school or college. It’s about nothing but partying, and sometimes playing football. The Blue Mountain State revolves around backup quarterback Alex Moran and his mission to never start a college football game, but enjoy the benefits of being the backup quarterback. His crew (includes the mascot, Sammy), and another football player, Thad. The misadventures of these three college students make for one of the funniest and entertaining shows you can find.
Drama: 2 – Not much drama here because it’s a comedy.
Cast: 4 – Keep an eye on Thad, he’s the best.
Addictiveness: 3 – Great to watch before hitting the town for the night. If you’re prone to binge watching, never fear.
Number 4: The Black Donnelly’s
This is the most underrated show of all time. Canceled after not even airing the full first season in 2007, The Black Donnelley’s is now the second most viewed show on the NBC website, behind another great TV show, Heroes. This show revolves around Tommy Donnelly, the second oldest brother of the Donnelly family. He tries to live his life straight and narrow. Ultimately, Tommy is dragged into some family business; some very illegal business. Follow Tommy around as he struggles between fighting for his family and fighting for what is right.
Drama: 4 – Great drama here. Nothing like a family doing illegal things and then fighting about it.
Cast: 3 – Not the strongest cast, but Jonathan Tucker and Olivia Wilde really stand out.
Addictiveness: 4 – Many cliffhangers will keep you watching a few episodes in a row.
Number 3: Prison Break
This is a great family drama about a man trying to break his brother out of a wrongful prison sentence.Lincoln Burrows is on death row for the murder of the Vice Presidents brother. His brother, Michael Scofield, is convinced his brother is innocent. Follow the tale of two brothers as Michael tries to prove his brother's innocence and break him out of an unfair sentence.
P.S – Scofield has some SICK tattoos.
Drama: 4 – The twists and turns will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Cast: 4 – The combo of Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller is phenomenal. Sarah Wayne Callies is amazing.
Addictiveness: 4 – You have to watch at LEAST 4 or 5 episodes in a row. You’ll find anything less is impossible to stop.
Number 2: The Following
Former FBI Agent Ryan Hardy is forced back into duty to recapture a serial killer who escapes. The show follows Hardy as he chases down the man he put behind bars, Joe Carroll, and uncovers the scope of the grand plan Carroll’s orchestrated while imprisoned. This show had so many twists and turns I wouldn’t be surprised if you binge watch an entire season in one day. Although this show was canceled after 3 seasons, the duo of Ryan Hardy and Joe Carroll is as good of a protagonist/antagonist combination as you will find.
Drama: 5 – Unbelievable amount of twists and turns that you will never see coming. You’ll scream at the TV at least 5 times.
Cast: 4 – Caroll and Hardy's combination is very unique.
Addictiveness: 5 – Will this show consume your life? Probably. Will you do anything about it? Probably not.
Number 1: Sons Of Anarchy
This show is an easy #1 for me. Follow Jackson “Jax” Teller and his misadventures in the fictional Son’s Of Anarchy motorcycle club. This show lasted 7 full seasons and was FX’s highest-rated television show to date. The cast is amazing, the drama is amazing, and yes; it’s very addicting. This show is a perfect combo of sex, drugs, and blood.
Drama: 5 – The drama and action will blow your mind.
Cast: 5 – Charlie Hunnam, Katie Segal, Mark Boone Junior, and Tommy Flanagan all kill it. The rest of the gang changes up a lot through the seasons, but they are all fantastic for the most part.
Addictiveness: 5 – Grab some snacks, a few drinks, and get ready to indulge in many episodes at a time. You’ll find yourself awake at 3am watching this show when you have to be up for work at 6. Oh well, its worth it.
