The debate of cats vs.dogs has ensued for many decades. Personally, I love them both, but I have met a multitude of people who are definitely not feline lovers. I've rarely met a person who doesn't love dogs, so I am here to stick up for the poor kitties who are unfairly judged.
1. Their undeniable cuteness.
How can you say no to that face?! JUST LOOK AT IT. I challenge even the biggest cat hater to not smile when a kitten comes up to you and rubs their tiny, soft face against your hand while their purr vibrates your whole body. I'll tell you: it's not possible. If a person ever says cats aren't cute, they're either lying or in denial.
2. They have a built-in motor.
That's right. Cats are magical. Kitties have this thing where they purr like a motor if you pet them just right, all the while performing cat yoga to help you reach their sweet spot. When a cat purrs, it is perhaps the most joyous thing you can experience because that means they like what you are doing. And with their selective tastes, this makes you feel as though you are in an elite circle of kitty love.
3. They keep themselves clean.
Cats are generally low maintenance. They bathe themselves with their cute, rough pink tongues to keep their fur nice and soft. Seriously, cat fur is the softest, most plush thing in the world. Fight me on this and you will lose.
4. They're cuddle bugs.
Get yourself a cuddly kitty and you'll never be the lonely sad sack who cries into their ice cream while binge-watching "The Notebook" on Netflix simultaneously pitying yourself because you think that nobody will love you like that. Just kidding, you still might, but at least you will have your built-in best friend right there to cuddle you through it. If you find yourself a cuddly kitty, it will love to sit on you and purr away as you pet it. It's pretty great.
5. They will love you unconditionally.
...As long as you feed them. All jokes aside, cats have their own way of loving, and if you create a bond with a cat, it will be your best friend. I love my cat, and yes, even though she is a brat sometimes like cats can be, at the end of the day she is still there to cuddle up next to me and provide me with some kitty love and attention.
All in all, cats are great, and I am sorry if you have not had a great experience with them. You just have to find the right kitty and you will understand why the rest of the world raves about them.
