It is no secret that the food at Fairfield University is not top notch.

Therefore, it is always enjoyable to get off campus and eat somewhere spectacular. As I wrap up my first semester of sophomore year, I have put together the top 5 places around Fairfield U that you must dine at.

5. Colony Grill, Fairfield, CT

Some might put Colony in first place, but there is such thing as too much Colony pizza and that is why it is No. 5. However, Colony Pizza has the most amazing pizza that a college student could ask for. As someone who is from Chicago and most always enjoys deep-dish pizza, the thin pizza at Colony has me in love. The atmosphere of the restaurant always leaves you happy and content.

4. Garden Catering, Fairfield, CT

I've never gone to Garden Catering, but it is just about the only place that I UberEats from. The chicken nuggets are the most amazing thing that you will ever eat. You are seriously missing out if you have not ordered from them yet.

3. BarTaco, Westport, CT

There is no item on the menu that comes as a disappointment. Whether it is the tacos, quesadillas or churros, BarTaco is amazing and will be a common go-to spot with your friends. The staff is all friendly and the place is decorated to always put you in a good mood. Also, during the warmer months, you have the option to sit outside right next to the water. Who does not love that?

2. Molto, Fairfield, CT

From the pizzas to pastas, everything will make you want more on the menu. It is located right in town and you are guaranteed to always run into fellow classmates at this popping restaurant. A personal favorite of mine is the Gnocchi and the pink lemonade. You will never leave Molto unsatisfied.

1. Quattro Pazzi, Fairfield, CT

Finally, for the absolute best place to eat, Quattro Pazzi located right in center of Fairfield. First of all, the bread is to die for. You will find yourself filling up with the bread before you can even order because it is that good. Then when you are looking at the menu, you will spend an immense amount of time wondering what you want because everything sounds amazing. You therefore have to make sure those you are with all get something different because you are going to want to have a bite of everything.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
