Christmas time is my favorite time of year. It is the time of happiness and joy, it is family time and spending time with friends and loved ones. Christmas time is when you feel all warm and fuzzy inside even in the bitter cold weather. The holidays are always fun to celebrate, because to me is when family is at it's closest and that we are are grateful to be surrounded by such happiness, love, and support. These are the people who believe in us, in our dreams, and the success of our happiness and life. So to me, that is Christmas time, love and happiness, so here are some of my favorite things to do this time of year.

1. Ice Skating

As a little girl, every year when the snow would fall we would go ice skating and our local ice rink in our small little town in Calumet, Michigan. I remember always having trouble with tying my skates, so my Grandpa would always help. Ice skating is always something my siblings and I did with my Grandpa around this time of year. When we were done skating we would always get a snack and hot chocolate from the concessions right outside the rink.

2. Watching The Snow Fall Late At Night

Watching the snow fall has always been a favorite of mine, it is like watching a winter wonderland form in the trees and my front yard. It is even more beautiful at night, with the contrast between the dark of the night, and pure white of the beautiful snow. Although where I live now, I am still hopeful for that first snow fall. I want a white Christmas.

3. Sledding

As a little girl we would always go sledding on our sledding hills in small town Calumet. Others would ski, but my thing is and always will be sledding. Going down the snowy hill and sometimes spinning around. Lots of laughter and giggles, as well is walking the dreaded way all they way up the hill, only to be happy to go back down!

4. Wrapping Presents

Wrapping gifts is fun and frustrating! I can be picky about how I wrap my gifts, and other times I am too frustrated to care, either because the wrapping paper is not cooperating with me, or I lost the scissors and tape. Still, all and all it is always fun to see your finished product and be so proud of your messy masterpiece, or elegant looking gift!

5. Decorating The House and Tree

I suppose this can be many other's favorite as well, but I have always loved decorating the house and our Christmas tree, tangles of the lights and all! I always got to put the star or angel at the top of the tree, it is the best part you know! It was always my thing! I loved it, and as I got older I would help decorate the windows and doors with lights, and tinsel. I think it will always be my best part of Christmas time.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
