While Christmas and Halloween are my two favorite holidays, Thanksgiving will always be close to my heart. From the food, games, laughter and family time, I always look forward to the end of November (and the dressing). Here are my personal favorites of the holiday.

1. The Food

Between the turkey w/ cranberry sauce (it's good I promise), ham, yams, dressing and baked macaroni & cheese (yum), how could the Thanksgiving meal not be on the list? It may take a while to prepare everything but it is worth it in the end.

2. A mini Family Reunion (before Christmas)

Out of my favorites, especially the food, spending time with family members and sharing a meal with them is one of my favorite things about Thanksgiving and the holiday season in general.

3. Dressing Up

Okay, yes it is true that we are looking good while at home (or over a family member's home) but, dressing up for the holidays helps me get into the holiday spirit. Here is an example of what I'll be wearing this year.

4. The Day After Thanksgiving...Black Friday

This event technically takes place after Thanksgiving but, Black Friday (and Cyber Monday) is on the list because of the savings. However, there is a huge amount of craziness that comes with Black Friday so I usually wait until Cyber Monday to catch some sales.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
