We all get nostalgic about the past, and, for some of us, sometimes a trip down memory lane is in order. My childhood was filled with lots of games of tag, hide-and-go-seek, and bike rides. But for all of that, my video game experiences I had growing up had just as big of an impact on my child self as anything else. In that case, let's take a look at some of my favorite video game memories:
10. Cars (PlayStation 2)
This was the first open-world video game I ever played, and, at the time, I thought it was the coolest game ever. There was something about being able to ignore all of the rules and expectations and just have fun. It doesn't hold up against modern titles, but man is the nostalgia strong with this one.
9. Super Mario Bros. (NES)
When I was a kid, my brothers and I discovered my parent's old NES, along with a few game cartridges. One of them was Super Mario, and boy did we have a blast. I'll always remember those days fondly.
8. Advanced Wars (GBA)
I've never actually played this one as a real game from a cartridge, only as an emulator. But that game is the reason I survived high school, so it deserves a place on this list to me.
7. Lego Star Wars (PlayStation 2)
When I first played this game, my imagination was immediately captured. The characters were funny, the levels dynamic and interesting, and there was so much to do that we kept this game in the console for a very long time before we moved on to something else.
6. Winnie the Pooh: Tigger's Honey Hunt (PlayStation 1)
Alright no making fun of anyone, but if you remember this game raise your hand. No one? I guess it's just me, then. Anywho, my four-year-old self would tell you that this game is everything and then some.
5. Guitar Hero (Wii)
I've never seen another game like this one (except for Rock Band, I suppose,) and it's also the reason I know good music, so I suppose it belongs on the list.
4. Pokemon Diamond (Nintendo DS)

3. Wii Sports Resort (Wii)

2. Pokemon Fire Red (GBA)

1. Crosstown Heroes (GBA)
I don't honestly expect anyone to remember this one, and that's okay. It may not be well remembered, but this was my very first video game for my brand new (at the time) Game Boy Advance. Just looking at the artwork brings back memories to my mind of simpler times when all I had to worry about was what was for dinner.
