This time of year makes us all want to snuggle up to a good holiday film. However, if you are bored with the usual movies, check out these awesome ones:

1. Edward Scissorhands

Edward, a kind boy created without hands, moves to suburbia after his inventor dies of a heart attack and falls in love with a girl named Kim.


2. Trading Places

A comedy about two men, an upper class commodity broker and a homeless street hustler who cross paths when they both become involved in a bet.

3. American Psycho

A black comedy-horror film about a wealthy investment banker who later becomes a killer.

4. Gremlins

A man looks for a gift in Chinatown and finds a gremlin (the shopkeeper reluctantly sells it to him but gives him a strict series of rules regarding caring for it).

5. Die Hard

A man at a Christmas party has to save the people there after terrorists take them hostage.

6. Lethal Weapon

An action comedy about two mismatched police officers- an army soldier who becomes suicidal after his wife's death and a 50 year old veteran of the force.

7. Iron Man 3

Iron Man 3 deals with industrialist Tony Stark facing enemies after his personal life is affected by them.

8. Deadpool

After Ajax, an evil scientist disfigures and transforms Wade Wilson, a mercenary into Deadpool. He uses his new skills to hunt down Ajax and fight him.

9. The Nightmare Before Christmas

Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town is bored by the same old thing and falls into Christmas Town.
