Being home for winter break means one thing: tons of couch/TV time. Between big holiday meals and hometown parties, there is plenty of time to catch up on all the shows we didn't have time to finish between classes! Here are 10 series currently on Netflix to start (and finish) before returning to campus:
1. "Stranger Things"
If you haven't already seen "Stranger Things"... it's time. At the very least, Winona Ryder's scenes with the Christmas lights will definitely put you in the mood for the season. Plus, who can resist this face?
2. "Gilmore Girls"
Fresh with a new revival season, what better time than now to binge the first seven? The amazing ensemble cast will make you remember why you love coming home to your small town.
3. "Fuller House"
Really only worth it for the nostalgia, but what isn't these days? Escaping the terror of 2016 is worth the cringe-y dance scenes and questionable political references.
4. "Sense8"
Severely underrated. The Wachowski Sisters (who wrote "The Matrix"!) bring together a beautifully diverse cast with a beautifully written sci-fi story to create a new universe that you will wish you were a part of.
5. "Black Mirror"
Cautionary tales of modern technology, stories romance, and straight up horror. What more could you want? I would suggest not eating before/while watching the first episode.
6. "Freaks and Geeks"
This high school comedy is a classic, and hopefully won't bring back any painful memories. Also enjoyable for all my James Franco fans out there.
7. "House of Cards"
American Horror Story: Executive Branch.
8. "Madam Secretary"
For anyone who wants to see a woman in a position of power in the government.
9. "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend"
My favorite hidden gem of prime-time television. This musical is an amazing feminist comedy and will have you laughing for hours. I highly suggest watching with your group of girlfriends.
10. "Portlandia"
Put a bird on it. The quirky culture of Portland, Oregon is alive in this show! It's like if SNL and Key and Peele had a baby.
