Ahh, Disney Channel. It brings us back to a time when you would come home from school and watch countless hours of sitcoms that drove your mom crazy.
The only thing had to worry about was when was the next episode of "Lizzie McGuire" coming on. Our generation was lucky to grow up when Disney was in its prime, giving us stars like Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, and Hilary Duff.
With so many greats, it was hard to choose just 10, but here is my official ranking of the best Disney Channel shows of the 2000s. (Disclaimer: I only considered shows that started between 2000-2009)
1." Wizards of Waverly Place" (2007-2012)
This one is obvious for taking the top spot. The show was the longest-running Disney live-action show, consisting of 106 episodes, its final episode was the most watched series finale in DC history, and it brought us Selena Gomez. Why wouldn’t this be in the number one spot?
2. "Hannah Montana" (2006-2011)
Every little girl wanted to put on the wig and pretend to be Hannah Montana. Miley Cyrus asher alter ego gained so much fame that her concert tour sold out in minutes, which caused Disney to create a concert movie for the ones who couldn’t make itto the live show, and tickets for those were just as hard to come by. A show that brought us the wild Miley Cyrus and generated such a craze deserves be upon the list as well.
3. "Lizzie McGuire" (2001-2005)
This show was probably the only show on Disney that wasn’t about wizards, pop-stars, or psychics. It was a show about a normal middle school girl just trying to survive the dreaded early teen years. To this day, Lizzie McGuire is iconic, and Hilary Duff will forever be Lizzie. Also, she basically invented Bitmoji, so we had to give her good ranking.
4. "That’s So Raven" (2003-2007)
This was the first DC series to make it to the 100 episode mark, which garnered a spin-off due to its popularity. This show about a psychic teenager was more than just its crazy antics. The writers did not shy away from topics of racism and body shaming and that’s what made this show truly original.
5. "Suite Life of Zack & Cody" (2005-2008)
Twins living in 5-Star hotel causing trouble with the help of the Disney’s version of Paris Hilton and Ashley Tisdale A.K.A. Sharpay Evans. Of course, this show was great. It was so great that is got a spin-off that lasted another three years.
6. "Kim Possible" (2002-2007)
A badass teenager that is a cheerleader by day and a crime fighter by night while dealing with the troubles of being in high school. The show generated two DCOMs and showed boys that it’s possible to escape to the friend zone.
7. "Phineas and Ferb" (2007-2015)
A show that brought us the iconic songs, such as “Swinter,” generated 222 episodes over the course of eight years making it the longest running DC show of all time. This show stretched across nearly 3 generations of DC watchers. Also Perry the Platypus.
8. "The Proud Family" (2001-2005)
Disney channels first sitcom, which revolves around an African American family with the main character going through the ups and downs of being a teenager. This show was iconic and not to mention the theme song is sung by Destiny’s Child. And the show basically represents the Carter-Knowles family today. An older daughter and twins (a boy and girl) being raised by a hot mom and ugly AF dad. Yup, Proud Family predicted the future.
9. "Even Stevens" (2000-2003)
Before Shia Lebouf was a movie star, he was the world’s most annoying little brother. This show kick-started the golden age of Disney Channel, being its first true original hit series. There was a little something for everyone. And who could forget the claymation theme song?
10. "Phil of the Future" (2004-2006)
Many feel like this show ended too soon. Well, they were right. A show about a family from the future ending up in the present and trying to fit in was crazy and hilarious to watch. I definitely couldn’t imagine being swept back in the year 1900 and trying to fit in. POF also brought us another story about escaping the friend zone. #philandkeely4evr
