The morning after Halloween, walking into stores, I already am greeted by Santa Claus and sparkling Christmas trees. I wonder ... did we really just skip over Thanksgiving and go straight into the holiday of Christmas? That is what it seems to be nowadays. Thanksgiving is just swept under the rug and Christmas is the single holiday left after Halloween.
I personally loved Halloween and thought that most people were into it this year compared to the years past that I have experienced. But instead of waking up to turkeys and oodles of food, I was greeted by Michael Buble's greatest Christmas hits and the sweet notes of Mariah Careys "All I want for Christmas is You".
You HAVE to wait until Thanksgiving is over to start celebrating Christmas. I want to enjoy the pilgrims and the gratefulness that always goes along with this holiday, along with (of course) the food. Ah, the wonderful time of feasting on tons of beautifully prepared, scrumptious food. We are so blessed to have this time of giving thanks and often take it for granted or look over it.
People don't really realize what they have.
So from now on. I expect to see turkeys when I wake up from Halloween night and wait until at LEAST the beginning of December to start seeing Rudolph at my local convenience store.
