When people doubt my God, I don't get upset. I don't get angry. In fact, I understand. I understand how it's a hard pill to swallow. I know for some, it's hard to fathom or comprehend a being so powerful. It's difficult to accept what the Bible says God has done.
When people doubt my God based off of what they see in the media or how my God is being portrayed, I don't get offended. I understand. I understand that in this day in age, it is easy to claim Christianity and not live it out. In fact, I am guilty of this—claiming faith but falling short of my God's glory. What I want those of you who doubt to know is that those who claim my God pale in comparison to Him. We get it wrong ... a lot. We should be the light and salt of the earth, but that's not always the case. We are sinners, and it's inevitable that we will all continue to sin. But please don't let that keep you from accepting my God.
When people doubt my God based on what we are taught in school, I understand. The education system doesn't really give us freedom to think for ourselves on this topic. They teach us evolution as if it's our sole reasoning, as if it's the only logical way of understanding the universe. If only we were more curious to know that there is no evidence to prove my God isn't real, maybe we would be more apt to learning my God. Maybe how my God made the world doesn't make sense, but if that's the case, I will never understand how the world can come from nothing. And I will never accept it.
When people hate my God, I understand. Do I embrace it? Absolutely not. But if I didn't know who my God is and who I am to my God, maybe I would hate him, too. I would hate the way those who claim to follow Him act. I would loathe those who use my God to spread the message of hate and condemnation. But I want those of you who doubt to know my God is not hate. He doesn't hold a gavel in His hands and force me and His beloved to follow a set of rules 'or else.'
My God is love, grace and power. He is merciful, kind and caring. He has a sense of humor, even. He possesses a soothing touch, and a healing voice. My God doesn't want us to be condemned to a life of misery. That's why He sent His son in the first place—to save us from ourselves. We are full of sin—we think that sin is just the way of life and the only way of life. We don't want to embrace anything else because this is all that most of us know.
To those of you that doubt, do you have any idea what God truly offers us? Not just eternal life, but extreme joy and prosperity in this earthly lifetime. A sense of fulfillment because you are willing to be a living vessel for your almighty creator. God provides a wisdom beyond your years and a faith so strong that nothing is impossible. He provides a path and plan for you when you can't make one for yourself. God has a purpose for all of us, no matter how little we think of ourselves. God is literally love. He has a love for us that no one can outshine.
To those of you who doubt my God, don't push Him away because you can't quite understand. Don't push Him away because you think He is going to judge you based off of your past decisions. Don't push him away because you have never let Him in. My God isn't pushy, if you want Him to leave you alone, He will. If you accept Him, He will accept you. And when you let Him in, nothing will stay the same.
Finally, to those of you who doubt my God, don't tell me my God isn't real if you have never experienced Him. I have known what it is like to be loved by the One who invented love. I have experienced radical change in my life when I invited my God in. What I have thought was impossible has been made possible by the faith my God has given me. I'll never be the same after that. Maybe it's crazy and doesn't make sense. But to me, there is nothing more real.
