"Maybe you love too hard and too often." These are the spoken words that ring in my mind, as I am falling asleep at night. What have I done wrong? Maybe I was naive. Maybe I was too hopeful. Maybe the wonderland I had hoped for was unrealistic and unwanted on the other end. But you know what I did not do wrong?
I did not love too hard. You cannot love too hard.
In a world where people live in poverty, where people struggle with depression, where cancer exists and hunger is a perpetual epidemic, you cannot love too hard.
Love is said to be patient and kind. It does not hurt the person you are loving, and it is not wrong. It is unconditional selflessness, and a promise that you care about even the ugliest parts of them. To paraphrase the trusted Ghandi, "Where there is love, there is life." So what, the person you love cannot understand it or see it? It is so important that you love. For some people, love is the only reason they have to get out of bed in the morning. Perhaps it's the love they have for their job, or the love they have for their family or partner-but either way, the love that they feel fuels their spirit to begin a new day. And with that being said, you cannot love too hard.
Love is a beautiful emotion. It is what makes you feel connected to other people. It is what makes
