To the friends that I may never see again,
As a recent college graduate, this isn't something that I really had time to think about until the craziness of finals week and graduation preparation settled down. I told you all on the last day or classes or the last time we hung out to "have a good summer", and that I would see you soon out of habit, not realizing that I probably won't. The thought hit me when I was leaving my exams and saying goodbye to people at graduation: I may never see any of these people ever again.
I may never see you again.
Some of you will move to other parts of the country to start a job, some of you will continue through your college careers, heck some of you might be getting married and might not have time to hang out. For most of you, the only time I will see you are instances on social media. This is a depressing realization, but I don't want to think about the negatives.
I'm so lucky to have met each and every one of you, best friends and just acquaintances alike. Whether we met in class, through mutual friends, or through a club, you all have given me something to hold in my heart and memories to remember for years to come. You were there for me when I was at my lowest lows or my highest highs. Every single one of you has given me unique friendships that helped mold me into the person I am today.
I want to wish you all the best of luck with whatever you do and I hope you cherish every moment you have with your other friends. Hang out with them as much as you can, even if you’re too tired or you have too much homework. Go out to dinner, have a movie night at your apartment or study together at the library; just spend time with each other and enjoy the time you have left.
No matter what point in my life that I may be in, I can honestly say that I will never forget you. I'll never forget how you made me smile, how you took care of me, how we stayed up until the early hours of the morning talking about anything and everything. Whether I see you again or not, know that you will always be in my heart.
