To My Sister(s)

When my parents got divorced, my dad moved into an apartment in our community. Once moving there, I found myself making friends with the girl who lived above us, Nicole, and introduced her to my sister, Sammi. The rest is history. A little four year old girl walking up to an eight year old turned into a bond that has never faded. I see the friendship between Sammi and Nicole and all I do is smile. Because I DID THAT!! I have never seen a friendship like theirs and it is one that everyone strives for. That kind of friendship is one that we all spend our lives looking for. And I absolutely love it. I love it for Sammi because my sister needs that partner in crime. I have never seen her happier than she is right now and I give so much credit to Nicole for that. They bring out the best in each other and it is clear to see. Not only has Nicole become my sister's best friend and greatest ally, she has become another sister to me. My sister and Nicole do exactly what sisters are meant to do. So this is for you guys.

Thank you. Thank you for being there for me during some of the darkest periods of my life and the brightest. Having you guys as shoulders to cry on and my personal hype women is everything to me. I know I am not the easiest to deal with, I know I have my days and my attitudes. But, thank you for understanding me. Knowing me and knowing how to handle Katie just being Katie. You guys brighten a room the moment you two walk in. I have never met two funnier individuals in my life and you two never fail to bring a smile to my face. When I am down, you guys bring me up. When I am mad, you guys are mad for me. You guys would go to war for me and I would do the same for you. I want you guys to know that I will repay you guys for all you have done for me. You guys have given me everything family gives family and more. I do not know what I did to deserve to have you two in my life.

Sammi, you are my sister by chance but my best friend by choice (as cheesy as that sounds). No matter how many times you and I have had our screaming matches, I would not trade you or our relationship for anything else in the world. I am so proud to say that you are my sister. Nicole, you are family. You have the biggest heart and seeing you truly start to love yourself has been the most beautiful thing to see. And I owe you everything for how much you have taken care of Sammi because she is one of the most precious things in the world to me.

I love you both so much and let's have an amazing sistas trip in Disney!!!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
