Thank You For Being The Best Dog Ever, Crowley
Kayla Resler

Dear Crowley,

From the moment we met, I knew that you would be the best dog ever. I remember when we went to get you, pulling up to what seemed like a "Criminal Minds" episode waiting to happen. I knew you'd fit right in with our family when I watched you run with your siblings, get trampled, and hop right back up, to go at it again.

You were so tiny, I could hold you in my hands. Your puppy fur made you feel so soft I couldn't stop petting you. When you fell asleep in my lap, I fell in love. Even though when this happened I couldn't move for hours, so I wouldn't wake you up, I never minded.

I would have let you lay on me forever, Crowley.

Your second birthday has come and gone and since then I have looked at you and seen how much you have grown. You are definitely not a lap dog but that doesn't stop you from sitting with me on the couch.

You are always up for a cuddle, especially when I really need it.

Your kisses always make me smile, and I can't thank you enough for comforting me when I am in pain.

I love watching you play. Your ball is a favorite, but your heart belongs to your lizard. Over the years we have bought so many replacements for that thing, it is your comfort animal that has been there for you from the beginning.

Your current one has gone through so many surgeries to keep it alive, but that doesn't stop you from cuddling it in your sleep.

When I am away at school I always miss you and I love how when I walk through the door you always run up and greet me. You always make me feel at home.

I love you Crowley, so so much.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
