I know I don't always show it, but I am so thankful for all that you do.

You are my People. You are the people who I go to on my darkest days and just need some reassurance that everything will be okay no matter how bad it might get. You are the people I go to when I have the best news to share because I know you will feel the same happiness I do. You are the people who remind me everyday that there is good in the world because I know I am blessed to have you in my life. You are my best friends.

Thank you. Thank you for all the laughs we share over the littlest things. Thank you for always reminding me how strong I am even when I don't believe it. Thank you for letting me cry on your shoulder when I need you most, even when it's over something as little as being hungry. Thank you for accepting me at my best and at my worst, because let's be honest, I know I am a lot to handle. Thank you for all the advice about boys because as much as I pretend to know what I am doing, we both know I am just as clueless as everyone else.

Thank you for never judging me, even when I do something really stupid. Thank you for always defending me and sticking up for me because even though I act tough, you know I still need help. Thank you for understanding that even though I am really complicated and always have my own opinion, that I will always have your back and protect you.

Thank you for helping me through the toughest times of my life such as losing a grandparent and when my heart was broken. Thank you for showing me the bright side of every situation and that no matter what I can get through it and end up back on top. Thank you for only being a phone call and text away. Thank you for always answering, even when its at a ridiculous hour. Thank you always being honest with me and never letting me believe anything less than the truth. Thank you for always being you.

Thank you for understanding that I get lonely easily and reminding me that you will always be there for me. Thank you for the compassion you show me everyday because you know I am fragile; even though others don't understand that part of me. Thank you for all the forgiveness I have received from you; I never mean to hurt anyone, I just lash out at the wrong people. Thank you for always knowing how important you are to me, I know I don't always show it as much as I should.

Thank you for being everything I could ever ask for in a person and so much more. Thank you for knowing even though I am horrible at keeping in touch while in school, you know I am always here for you. Thank you for all that you do. Thank you for being my best friends.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
