With Spring right around the corner, we're all getting stuffy noses and constant coughs. The new flow of pollen is making everyone's allergies act crazy and out of sorts. Even if you never had allergies before, suddenly your body has betrayed you! Missing work and school all because your body can't handle changing seasons? Not happening! Throwing back medicines, like shots at the club, not helping? Well, try these quick tips to keep yourself a little healthier throughout this allergy season, or any time of year!

1. Clean your phone and phone case.

Think about it. Your phone touches SO many things daily! Then, you touch your phone to text or check social media. Even worse, you place your phone against your face to make a call. Now, all of the germs that were on your phone are now on your hands, face, and anything else you touched. That said, simply cleaning your phone a few times a week will significantly diminish the bacteria being transferred. To clean your phone, just put a little rubbing alcohol on a cotton pad and wipe all around your phone, and you're done!

2. Put the toilet lid down before flushing.

Many people have trouble remembering to flush, much less remembering to close the lid before doing so. When you flush the toilet, the water inside it can fly up to 5 feet out of the toilet. This means that the dirty toilet water can touch the things in your bathroom, like your toothbrush, facial products, and hair products. The good news is that you can prevent this by simply closing the lid before flushing.

3. Cleaning your bathtub after someone else uses it.

If you live with other people, you know too well the mess they can leave behind in the bath. Hair, dirt, and dead skin left in the tub are just waiting for you to soak in after — disgusting! Taking a few minutes to spray some antibacterial spray or any cleaning spray on the tub before bathing will ensure that you come out of the bath squeaky clean.

4. Lysol everything.

Lysol comes in several different scents to appeal to everyone. This can be done as often or as rarely as you would like. Lysol is great for disinfecting, and it's so easy to just spray it where something needs to be disinfected. A few times a month, you could walk around your home and spray your bed, doorknobs, sink handles, drawer handles, cabinet, handles, etc. This tip is a great, quick way to stay healthier.

5. Diffuse essential oils.

Essential oils have been known to relieve stress, cleanse the air, and simply make a more welcoming environment. One oil, in particular, is called "Germ Fighter" from Plant Therapy. The oil is a blend of lemon, eucalyptus, clove bud, rosemary, and cinnamon. It smells delicious and can help keep certain things out of the air in your home for fresher air. Diffusers range from $20.00 to $100.00, but the one pictured is priced at $19.99 at Bed Bath & Beyond.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
