Ladies, DYE Your Hair, Don't Fry It, There's A Difference

Hey guys, welcome BACK to my YouTube Channel! Jk, this is the Odyssey, who am I kidding. So I love to dye my hair and change my look. Despite only being a sophomore, I've already managed to accumulate four piercings and I have dyed my hair more than seven different colors. Let's just say that the newfound freedom really got to me and I'm loving the new looks that I've been serving. After dying my hair so many times, I've come up with a couple of tips and tricks for those who have been interested in changing heir hair color as well! Here goes:

  1. Don't dye freshly washed hair. Don't wash your hair a couple of days before dying to ensure that your hair has all those healthy natural oils to protect it from harsh chemicals that come with dying.
  2. Make sure you have plastic bags, like a lot. Unless you want to be responsible for dying the carpet, tiles, and a whole bunch of your clothing, you'll want to accumulate some plastic protective layering. Whether it be cut up garbage bags or plastic wrap, make sure that you try your best to not ruin your living area/clothing!
  3. Gloves are a must. You're trying to dye your hair, not your hands. Also, you'll really need gloves if you're bleaching your locks. Bleach is dangerous and should not be used without proper equipment and extreme caution.
  4. Section your hair off before dying. You don't want a splotchy hair dying job, so make sure you section your hair off well and watch some YouTube videos and research how to do so.
  5. Time that shit. You don't want to bleach your hair for too long or else you'll end up with ramen-noodle looking strands and no one wants that. Your hair will break off and never dry properly so really pay attention to this one!
  6. Wash your hair out well. We don't want to stain our clothes and sheets.
  7. Condition and hydrate your hair. For the days after hair dying, you may notice that your hair has dried out a bit, so be sure to use a nice hair oil and conditioning products!
  8. Enjoy that new color. Go out and live your best life, show off the new hair!

Lastly, don't change your color too often or you'll risk frying your hair, so go easy on your locks. Also, be very cautious when bleaching your hair. I personally wouldn't recommend bleaching hair to anyone who is inexperienced. Bleach is dangerous as heck. Like seriously.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
