Now that 2018 has started, and we're well into February, it's finally settling in that these books are coming out soon. Conclusions to series, debut novels, and the in-betweens, these are the three YA novels that I'm most looking forward to this year.

1. Tyler Johnson Was Here by Jay Coles

This book first caught my eye on Twitter because of its beautiful cover, and I've continued following it for the story. I couldn't be more excited to read Jay Coles's debut novel. It's about Marvin and his twin Tyler, who goes to a party and turns up dead, presumably shot by a police officer. It sounds heartwrenching and real in a way that's still culturally relevant today. I'm honestly counting down the days till this book debuts!

2. Obsidio by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

I've probably already talked about The The Illuminae Files series Files The Illuminae Files seriesThe Illuminae Files series a million times in my articles, but I can't contain how excited I am for the conclusion of it. It's coming out in March, and I'm ready for it. This thrilling space series told through files and images has caught my attention since it's release of the first book. There's still time to cram in the first two books in time for Obsidio !

3. Reflection: A Twisted Tale by Elizabeth Lim

I haven't read the rest of the books in the Twisted Tale series, but I love the idea of retelling Disney stories in a unique and fun way. This series makes an effort to not only retell, but also change and morph the story into something different. Plus, this one is about Mulan! I'm beyond excited to see where Lim takes this series, especially based off the synopsis.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
