7 Thoughts You Have As You Go Into Your Last Semester Of College

Going into your last semester of college is a weird time. It's this combination of excitement, nostalgia, sadness and fear. But all of that is the culmination of years and years of hard work and that makes it all worth it. So as you embark on your last semester, know you're not alone. Here are some of the thoughts you have as a soon-to-be college graduate.

1. You countdown until your last homework assignment is due. Ever.

College may be a fun time, but homework is not. The second you turn in that last homework assignment you'll breathe out a sigh of relief.

2. You make the most of your last memories with your college friends.

Giphy

There's something truly special about the friends you meet in college. They're your people, the ones who make those four years worthwhile. Saying goodbye to them will be tough, so spend as much time with them as you can.

3. You start the job hunt.

Giphy

This is the one that college leads up to, the moment all these years of school have prepared you for. Finding a job is hard, but just remain positive and keep your options open.

4. You try to save up your money.

Giphy

Oh yes, the dreaded thing we all worry about as college comes to an end. It's almost time for us to be a full-blown adult and that means supporting ourselves financially. You'll be grateful later on when you save a few bucks here and there.

5. You enjoy the traditions of your school.

Giphy

No matter how big or small, it's those special and unique things about your school that make it special. So take those in and enjoy them while you're still a student.

6. You mentally prepare for adulting.

Being an adult is scary. Taking care of yourself and having actual responsibilities is nerve-wracking. But just know it's ok to not completely know everything and to figure it out as you go along. That's just a part of life.

7. You'll look back and be grateful for these memories.

Giphy

College is a fantastic time filled with memories that will last you a lifetime. As you start your last semester don't forget all of those memories that made it worth it. The laughs, the excitement, the friends you've made. Cherish those things and don't take advantage of them.

Here we go. One last semester. Enjoy it, make the most of it and good luck. Adulthood is waiting.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
