70 Thoughts We All Had During The Golden Globes

Today, I watched the Golden Globes with my family. Here is my stream of consciousness about it. I hope you had some similar thoughts as my family and I did.

1. Watching celebrities get drunk is a good pastime.

2. This reminds me of when Neil Patrick Harris hosted the Tony's.

3. STRANGER THINGS.

4. If you haven't seen La La Land, this must be confusing.

5. Jimmy Fallon, you're a pro at winging it.

6. Matt Damon <3

7. At first, my family thought Florence Foster Jenkins was a person and were confused as to why they were zooming in on Meryl Streep. Then we realized.

8. I love Jane the Virgin; why didn't it win?

9. Wow, that speech by Race Ellis Ross about women of color was inspirational--praise to you.

10. Aaron Taylor Johnson: you went from Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging to winning a Golden Globe? Props to you.

11. Who's this guy that looks like Gru?

12. I enjoy that this show is subtly democratic; I appreciate the little jokes.

13. Who is that girl next to Reese Witherspoon and why is she wearing a 1950's prom dress?

14. Remember that news story about Andrew Garfield getting high at Disneyland with Emma Stone?

15. Wow, Childish Gambino does TV too?

16. What's with all of these nude dresses?

17. These women's lips are on point. I wish I had a makeup artist to do my makeup.

18. House got really old.

19. House just denied a handshake from Loki, how dare you??

20. Look at the people turned around at the front tables, they look funny.

21. Carrie Underwood's dress looks like a flower.

22. "Lion" sounds inspirational.

23. Why is there no music playing for anyone?

24. Sofia Vergara had quite a vulgar speech...

25. Who out of a cast gets to keep an award?

26. I love the Verizon to Sprint guy.

27. Vanessa Hudgens is in some new superhero show, Powerless. That's pretty cool.

28. Also ~sidenote~ Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale's duet was really cute and made my day the other day.

29. Viola Davis is amazing...and I love her dress!

30. Viola Davis is a true rags to riches story--it's inspirational.

31. How much wine do they have to buy for this event?

32. During commercials, do the celebs just stand and drink together? That must be great.

33. The little boy in Lion is so cute!

34. Good for Amy Schummer for losing weight!

35. Goldie Hawn is horrible at presenting; I feel second-hand embarrassment.

36. Hey, that's the dad in Sky High!

37. Ryan Gosling--ugh my heart <3

38. "Rogue One" was a good movie, and I saw the Star Wars movie probably a decade ago.

39. The guy who wrote "La La Land" wrote "Whiplash"? That's rad.

40. "La La Land" took six years? Wow...

41. Most dresses tonight are bad except for Octavia Spencer.

42. STEVE CARRELL'S FANTASIA DIVORCE STORY IS HILARIOUS!!

43. Emma Stone is crying during Steve Carrell's speech...amazing.

44. Kristen Wiig has a great story, as well.

45. "My Life as a Zucchini" is a movie. I'm just gonna leave that here. I still need to see Zootopia.

46. Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, you will be missed <3Luminous is a great word.

47. Luminous (someone used it in a commercial).

48. Casey Affleck used to be better looking.

49. So many previews for movies.

50. Why are there so many obscure categories?

51. Why is Isabel standing and applauding herself?

52. "Oh, foreign people" --my brother.

53. Anna Kendrick's dress looks weird.

54. I forgot Tom Hiddleston does things other than Loki.

55. So many celebrities do humanitarian activities; it's inspirational.

56. I can't wait to see Emma Watson in Beauty and the Beast."

57. Beard Parade 2017.

58. "Go Queen Elizabeth!

59. "Stranger Things" better win...

60. Shoot.

61. What is "The Crown"???

62. Viola Davis, once again, you go girl!

63. This speech about Meryl Streep is so grand and aspirational.

64. Meryl Streep has done so many movies...What about "Into the Woods"?

65. Oh, there it is.

66. I think they actually used every one of her movies.

67. I like how Meryl could have talked about ANYTHING, and she talked about such a controversial topic in an opinionated way. That is class.

68. Chris Pine still looks good.

69. Boys have it so good. All they get to wear is a suit and no one judges them.

70. I have a feeling "La La Land" will win 7/7 of the awards it was nominated for.

Then I went to sleep.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
