Thoughts Every Senior Has

Just a few thoughts every senior is currently having...

1. "God I can't believe classes are starting again."

2. If I pretend classes aren't starting, they won't start, right?

3. I mean Wednesday isn't that close anyway ... I still have a few more days to get my life together.

4. Omg, how is it already Wednesday?!

5. Ok calm down, you'll be fine. You don't really need anything for the first day of class anyway.

6. Who knew we needed our book and everything the first week of classes?! Ugh me. I should have known. I'm a senior, damn it!!

7. Ok don't freak out, really it'll be ok. Deep breathes.

8. This next class seems like it'll be an easy A, that's good at least.

9. Why is "applied math for everyone" clearly NOT for everyone?!

10. Ugh, I cannot do poorly in a class that is "for everyone."

11. I'm going to waste my entire semester worrying about Gen ed, when I have so many other classes I need to focus on!

12. Ok, get yourself together. Let's go to the bookstore.

13.There is no way I am going near that book store again. So. Many. People.

14.I'll just order them online.

15. Why are these books so expensive?! I wonder how many times I could go to Chipotle with the amount I'm about to pay for these books ...

16. Mmmmm Chipotle ...

17. No. No Chipotle. You need to pay for these books. We don't have money for Chipotle anymore. 18. Ok just buy the books and get it over with.

Quick like a band aid.

19. *cries a little*.

20. Ok, it's done. We are going to get through this. We've done this for how many semesters already?

21. Oh my god, we are seniors ...

22. I should really have my life together.

23. Or maybe I shouldn't. Maybe I should be making the most of it while it lasts, right?

24. But I also don't want to be working in McDonalds after graduation ...

25. It's ok, it's Friday. Thank God.

26. I will definitely get all my stuff together this weekend ...

27. Right?

28. Right.

29. Wait ... we have to do this all again next week.

30. *Head slap*

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

19 Lessons I'll Never Forget from Growing Up In a Small Town

There have been many lessons learned.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
