If you truly loved me then you would ask me to stay,

To scour the earth with you to find what will make you whole,

Because I recognize that I cannot, and you cannot fill me,

Yet instead you sit despondent and gazing at the horizon,

For your next adventure, which I fear does not include me.

Dreams

You are the stuff of dreams, and oh,

how I wish I could find you,

but I cannot, and will not,

exchange something that is so good,

for someone who may not exist,

because he is good to me,

and because you are imaginary,

because he smells of safety and familiar places,

that I love, and need and cherish, and you,

perhaps we met, but in another life,

Your touch makes me feel guilty,
