For many of us, summertime is a common time to hop on a plane or in the car and set off on vacation. We plan these trips months and weeks ahead of time and when they finally arrive, there are a few things that we should never forget to do while on vacation. Here they are:

1. Take a lot of pictures

Even if you are the type of person who enjoys being in the moment, still take pictures. Pictures are beautiful representations of the memories that you have spent on your vacation. Whether it is just one at the beach and one at the park, you still have something to look back upon. I love taking pictures, which means everywhere I go I always have some type of camera with me. After I get back from where I went, I usually get the pictures developed. With them developed, I can put in albums and view in the future.

2. Read a book

Go somewhere peaceful, pick up a book and just read. I know you are on vacation, but reading is just a small way you can just relax after a long day of traveling. You can do it by the pool or even sit on the beach. If you are somewhere cooler, then just sitting in a small spot in the lobby by a fireplace or a large window is a nice place too.

3. Try a new type of food

It doesn’t have to be something extravagant, just something small. Especially if you are vacationing at a new location. Unless you vacation there often, then what are the chances you will be able to try the cuisine again? If you like it, now you have a new food to add to the list of foods you enjoy. If you don’t like it then, you know to never eat it again.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
