9 Things You Need To Do Before Fall

Everyone has a way to kick off the new school year, end of summer, and fall season. But it's always better to prepare, here are 8 things everyone forgets but needs to include as summer ends and fall begins.

1. Final beach trip!!!

This is necessary, especially if you worked most of the summer. Whether it's for a couple random days or a long weekend, some beach time is always ALWAYS a summer must-have. Nothing's better than a classmate complimenting your tan! Overall a must do.

2. Final chance for summer foods and drinks

Whether it's a fave restaurant food, peach tea from CFA or any kind of special summer favorite, get your fill!!

3. Start stocking up on fall smells and decor

Whether just a pumpkin is your idea of fall decorating or you go all out with some fall scents and tons of candy corn, there is always some form of decorating you could/should do! You might as well stock up before everyone needs it and gets the same idea.

4. Remember all that hard work you did this summer?

Remember to treat yourself!! You worked your booty off this summer, so make sure you reward yourself before school starts up with something fun, nothing is more important than feeling good going into a new school year.

5. Goals Goals Goals

Okay but for real, now it's time to grind. Set up some school year goals, whether academically or for yourself in general! For example: if you are a biology major, a great example is "I will not get mad at all my easier major friends for having a syllabus week." Or "I won't have a mental breakdown when I'm stuck studying and my friends are having fun." Trust me, it'll be worth it!

6. The dreaded good-byes

6. Saying good-bye to friends and family as you start a new or continuing your journey in college on your own all so bitter-sweet but it has to be done.

7. More clothes and shoes!!!

Well, fall clothes and boots specifically, but boots and clothes none the less! A time in fashion when you won't need a ton of layers (depending on your location), but again fun boots and fall clothes for the win!

8. Football season is back!

We love the games, the tailgates, the clothes and winning teams (Roll Tide!). Whether your cup of tea is college or pro, everyone loves football season.

9. Plan a fun fall-themed trip!

Apple picking, hot chocolate or apple cider, hay rides, corn mazes, etc. MUST DO. Start planning now! You can find an apple farm around, or maybe start planting some trees for next year..

Get your list together and prepare because these are absolute musts pre-fall and in the final moments of summer.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
