20 things to do before I turn 20

Being 19 has been a very eye-opening age for me, even though I'm only six months into 19. I realized that this is my last teenage year so I decided to create a bucket list for the end of my teenage years.

1. Travel by myself again

I got the opportunity to go to Mexico and Ireland without my parent and I want to travel alone once again before I turn 20.

2. Go to a concert

I've only been to one concert in my entire life and it was Davido and I want to experience that again.

3. Go on a road trip

The only road trip I've ever been on was when my parents drove me to school, so I want to drive somewhere else.

4. Write a letter to myself to when I am 30

I want to see how much has changed in a decade.

5. Volunteer

I always volunteer but I hope to start a club/nonprofit.

6. Go vegan for a week

I want to see if I can do it because I really like chicken.

7. Spend a day without technology

We are so attached to our phones and laptops I want to disconnect or attempt to for a day.

8. Try to control my anxiety

I figured adulthood won't be any less stressful so why not work on it now.

9. Eat a crazy food

I've eaten grasshoppers but I don't see that as my limit on unique foods.

10. Big chop... part 2

I have been neutral since my sophomore year of high school but I think it's time to start my hair journey again.

11. Take my parents on a date

We all appreciate and love our parents but we don't say it or show it enough.

12. Read 100 books

I have all the books that I want to read, I just have to start.

13. Stop procrastinating

This summer has shown me that it takes too much time for me to start my work and that has to end.

14. Master French

I know the language I'm just too shy to speak because of my accent.

15. Take pictures

Whether it's of me or not I need more pictures for memories.

16. Continue to teach myself

Although I am forever indebted for my educational opportunities, I need to continue to teaching myself outside of the classroom.

17. Overcome my fear of public speaking

I've always been afraid of speaking in public but I feel like it's time for me to get over it.

18. Start a journal

I need to start writing down what I'm feeling and what I'm thinking this can help with article ideas as well.

19. Learn how to drive

I have my learners permit but I need to get my license because I really want to drive.

20. Find my style

Over the summer I've learned my style of clothing but I just need to get my wardrobe together.

I feel as though doing these things will help me with my journey to independence and help ease me into adulthood.
