Summertime is known for relaxation and not having a worry in the world. But sometimes after week three when you have already binge watched Grey's Anatomy and Gossip Girl twice, you realize that you can't take the boredom anymore. This is the list for all the people out there that are sick of sitting in bed with dried pizza sauce on your shirt.
Going camping with friends
Nothing is greater then getting some friends, getting some sMores, and heading to the forest for a weekend of no social media, and camping. Some of the greatest memories can be made when you are forced to put down phones and grow closer to your friends.
Head to a lake for a day of swimming
Even if you don't have a boat or a cabin on the lake, you can still have a great time heading down for a swim in the lake with friends.
Go to an amusement park
Whether you head to Kings Island, Holiday World, Six Flags, or Cedar Pointe, any day can be fun with some roller coasters and junk food. It may be expensive but the great times you have going from ride to ride will be priceless in the long run.
Don't have the time or money to go on vacay? Just get some baby pools, grab a radio, maybe a couple of sprinklers, lemonade and a hot summer day. Now all you need is friends to enjoy it with and you have your own vacation right in your backyard.
Have an all day movie marathon
Rainy summer days are pretty much the worse. Take advantage of it by grabbing some friends, ordering a pizza and pick a movie series that will keep you preoccupied for 5+ hours. Chances are after that it's stopped raining or its time to go to bed.
Head outside for some sand volleyball
Volleyball is always fun. Sure when you add sand to that it gets messy, but it also gets more fun! Being competitive with friends will make the summer fun. Even more if you make winners pay for lunch.
Go see a sports game
Grab some friends and go watch a baseball game. Even if you don't have any interest in playing sports (me), watching them with friends can always be fun when you get caught up in the crowds cheering.
Get some ice cream
Summer nights are long and hot, cool off by grabbing some ice cream after a long day at the pool. Trying a different flavor every time you go for the summer will be a fun way to make it interesting and get yourself to be more adventurous.
Walk around the water front
Take a road trip to the closer big city on the river and take a stroll down the riverside. Chances are there are some great restaurants and a lot of things to do.
Check out a music festival
You don't have to go big and get ready to go to coachella or Bonaroo. There are a lot of smaller music festivals all around that are just as fun. Bonding with hundreds of other people over all of your favorite bands is a feeling like no other.
Think of something that you would have never though to try, like painting, or knitting, or even playing video games, and try it out. If you don't like it, at least you can say you tried, if you do like you found an awesome new hobby!
Go on a picnic at your favorite park
Grab a couple close friends and plan as picnic at the park. Being surrounded by nature and eating fruit and sandwiches with your favorite friends will always be a way to cure your boredom.
Have a campfire
Find a fire pit, find some friends, and wait for a cooler summer night. It's a great time to tell stories and talk about past memories with your friends.
Go thrift shopping
After everyone going through their house and doing spring cleaning, thrift stores end up being filled with awesome items to discover during the summertime. It's perfect for people who love retail therapy, but have a budget.
Go for a hike
If you like to stay active and be more sporty, head for a hike. Whether you go by yourself, or go with friends, going on a hike is perfect because you get to pick how long and far you go. Seeing beautiful nature is amazing and you can go at your own pace.
Go to a summer concert
Whether it's Beyoncé, or Cage the Elephant, many artist have tours going on during the summer that are a perfect way to make some special memories, with special people.
Build a pillow fort
Wait...are we 6? No, but who cares. Building a pillow fort is a great thing to do when being an adult just becomes too hard.
Go canoeing
Exercise and water fun, all wrapped together? What could be better than that. It's an awesome way to stay cool during the summer and a good way to try new things.
Build an extreme slip and slide
Going on YouTube and looking up extreme slip and slides is not nearly as fun as doing it yourself. So do some research on a rainy day and try to build the most extreme slip and slide. Who knows, you may get a viral video out of it.
Go on a weekend road trip
Hanging out with friends can sometimes be hard when summer jobs are involved. Get together and plan a weekend where everyone takes off work and take a weekend road trip somewhere. To keep it cheap, it's a great idea to take a road trip to see one of your friends from college that like farther away. Instead of paying for a hotel, you can just crash at their place.
