11 Things Better Than Violence

It's easy in today's world to feel that we have no control over the terrible things that are happening. The tragedies and violent occurrences of late have truly broken the hearts of nearly every single American, no matter what your exact viewpoint is. However, no matter who you are or what you believe, I am a firm believer that violence is never the answer. And for those who wonder what you can do to make this world a bit better, I suggest that you simply advocate for a nonviolent life and instead focus on the beauties of our world. Violence is simply absurd and is never a solution, especially when all of these alternatives to violent actions exist! So inspire someone today. Remind someone of the good things in life. Turn off your news channels and make a difference by living loving and peaceful lifestyles, and appreciate peaceful activities such as these.

1. Playing with puppies

2. Jam sessions to your favorite song

3. Drinking a creamy chocolate milkshake

4. Achieving the perfectly-roasted marshmallow at a bonfire

5. Driving through sunshine with windows down

6. Finding the perfect temperature for a calming bubble bath

7. Getting a wonderfully tight hug from a best friend

8. Watching innocent laughter and excitement of little kids

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
