10 Things I’d Rather Do Than Drink A Pumpkin Spice Latte

The season of pumpkin spice is upon us.

For some, the return of the famous pumpkin spice latte at Starbucks puts them right into the mood for fall. Drinking a hot, pumpkin spice latte is the highlight of a crisp, fall day for these people. However, for people like me, the thought of drinking a "PSL" brings nothing close to joy. To me, fall isn't a time for pumpkin spice lattes. It's time for so much more.

1. Have a scary movie marathon

Halloween is coming, and that means good movies are, too! Nothing's better than getting cozy with your favorite blanket and your favorite scary movie.

2. Drink apple cider

If I don't want to drink one of the "signature" fall drinks, at least I like the other! Apple cider is the perfect drink for a crisp fall day.

3. Go to a pumpkin patch

There's always been something exciting about looking at pumpkins and finding the one that's for you.

4. Find my way through a corn maze

Getting turned around in a corn maze can be a little scary, but it's a great way to spend a fall day!

5. Carve pumpkins

After going to the pumpkin patch and finding the perfect pumpkin, it's time to carve it! Carving an elaborate design, or a simple face, into a pumpkin is a fun way to spend a fall afternoon.

6. Go apple picking

This is a great option for when the weather is still warm enough (it's also a perfect date idea!).

7. Walk through a haunted house

Haunted houses have always freaked me out a little, but they're also one of my favorite things. Go with friends to the best-haunted house around you, and have a spooky time!

8. Go on a hayride

A hayride is something that I often forget about. However, it's super fun (if you don't mind the hay). Perhaps you'll even find a haunted hayride to really get you into the fall mode!

9. Jump into leaves

Raking up leaves is no fun, but it can be if you use them for your enjoyment! Although it may seem like little kids are the ones jumping in the leaves, it's a great way to have fun without spending any money.

10. Run on a cool, fall morning

Running in the summer ends with me being drenched in sweat and feeling extremely dehydrated. Running on a fall morning is one of the greatest feelings; you can run for fun or do a fall-themed race!

Fall doesn't have to be full of pumpkin spice lattes to be fun! There are other options, and I definitely know that I will be participating in them.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
