8 Things I'm Looking Forward To After Coming Home For The Summer

If only it was more than 3 months.

Less than two weeks until the end of a whirlwind year, and I can't even describe how excited I am for the schoolwork to be over, for at least three months that is. If you look forward to summer vacation, and all of you should, there are so many things that you probably can't wait to do. Here's just a few that are on my list during the summer I'll be spending in Newville, PA. Feel free to make your own!

1. Sleeping in.

As if I don't do this enough already...and taking naps in my own bed.

2. Making some money.

College is rough on one's bank account. If anybody needs a shift covered, you know where to find me!

3. Going on day trips.

Sometimes a fun get away, if only for a day, can lead you to some of the best places you've never been to.

4. Seeing my pets. Every. Single. Day.

No more begging for pictures of my cats while I'm at school.

5. Eating home cooked meals.

My favorite words are "What do you want for dinner tonight?"

6. Making memories with friends and family.

It's the simple things.

7. Taking some new Insta worthy pictures.

Which I'll be able to hang in my dorm room and reminisce over for the next year.

8. Sitting in my own house, on my own couch, and watching endless amounts of Netflix.

Is there anything better? (Yes, if the refrigerator wasn't so far away!)

I'm not going on any extravagant vacations or even traveling, but being in the comfort of my own home with the best food, family, friends (and of course pets) is all I can ask for this summer.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
