If you’re anything like me, you like being social and talking to people, but you don’t really like to party. Luckily, there’s other things to do if you still like to stay up late and interact with people.
1. Go see a movie.
A lot of schools offer free or discounted movies on weekends. Usually, they are somewhat recent, so it’s a good deal.
2. Eat late-night breakfast.
I don’t know why, but Waffle House tastes so much better at 10 o'clock at night than it does in the morning.
3. Play a game.
Find someone in your dorm that owns Cards Against Humanity or a similar card game. You can also see if your school has a board game club.
4. Drive somewhere.
If you live in a rural area, it’s easy to get tired of your surroundings. Grab some friends, pool together some gas money if you can, and go on a mini road trip.
5. Go stargazing.
Take advantage of state parks if you live near them; many of them will let you camp overnight and watch the stars without light pollution.
6. Take advantage of campus events.
Some schools offer occasional late-night events with free food, so definitely take advantage of that.
7. Use campus recreation rooms.
Most dorms have lounges where you can watch TV, and some schools have student centers with fun things to do like bowling or ping-pong.
8. Walk around at night.
Obviously make sure you’re in a safe place, but walking with friends is a fun way to kill time when there’s nothing better to do.
9. Go see live music.
There's plenty of places to go see live music, even in small towns. Usually it's free or cheap if it's not a major artist.
10. Get ahead on homework.
This is probably the least fun option on this list, but you’ll have more free time during the week if you can get stuff done on the weekend. Get some friends together and go to a study area where you can talk to make it more fun.
11. Just talk to people.
Find some people that aren’t going out but still want to meet new people and just sit and talk until the sun comes up.
