Are all the spring break vacay Instagram posts getting you down? Don’t worry, I know how you feel. Here are some things to try to spice up your break at home, instead of just sleeping all day (which is definitely still a valid option).

1. Try out some new recipes

Take advantage of the fact that you don’t have to eat dining hall food for a whole week!

2. Start a new series

And probably finish it with the amount of time you’ll spend in bed binge watching

3. Go on an adventure

Grab some friends (or even just yourself) and your car keys and go explore somewhere new!

4. Shop till you drop

Taking yourself on a shopping spree is a great close second to a tropical island vacation. Go treat yourself!

5. Do something creative

Maybe re-decorate your room or try your hand at knitting (maybe you have a secret talent for it that you never even knew).

6. Make some new playlists

Discovering new music and making playlists is personally one of my favorite pastimes, try it!

7. Have a Disney movie marathon

Because who doesn't love rewatching old Disney movies and feeling like a kid again.

8. Read a motivating book

Self-help books are some of my favorite types of books to read and always leave me feeling so empowered. I swear once you give it a try you will not regret it!

9. Hit the gym

While lying in bed all day is always an option, so is working on getting that six-pack ready for summer!

10. Learn a new skill

Whether it's sign language or rollerblading, learn something new to do from a friend or even take a class!

11. Go on a picnic

Picnicking is something that is so underrated. Grab some friends and head to a local park and picnic (weather permitting of course).

12. Have a spa day

Make "treat yourself" your motto for spring break

13. Go to the zoo

Hey, it's something different and fun! Who doesn't love animals and taking some Instagram-ready pics?!

14. Take a breather

Just because it seems like everyone else is having an action-packed spring break doesn't mean you have to try to compete with them! Just take a break and enjoy the fact that you don't have to deal with schoolwork for a week!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
