10 Thoughts Every College Student Has While Packing For Christmas Break

There are so many mixed emotions that go through a college student's head as they are preparing for the long-anticipated Christmas break. It is such a crazy time of year and as a student, you are coming off of one of the most stressful times of the whole semester....finals. So one can only imagine what is actually going on in one's mind but here is just a few...

1. I can finally take a break!

You go and go and go all semester trying to keep up with all your classes, demanding schedule, and the little social life you have left that after finals you can actually relax and take a deep breath!

2. I get a whole month of home cooked meals!

You're a poor college kid who has been eating Top Ramen for three meals a day for the past six weeks and you can't wait to get home to mom so that you can experience what actual food tastes like again.

3. I can't wait to sleep in my own bed!

No matter how comfy your bed is at school, nothing beats your bed at home!

4. I'm so ready to see my family!

No matter how long it has been since I was able to go home or see my family, I am always ready to see my family.

5. I have so much catching up to do with my friends!

Being away from all my hometown friends for a whole semester allows my whole friend group to have tone of things to catch up on and always means a good time!

6. I finally get my hometown food I've been craving!

Nothing beats a hometown independent restaurant! I always seem to want it more when I am away at college.

7. Wow, I've missed my dog!

While you are at college you are so busy you never know how much you miss your pets till you have a chance to take a break and actually think about them.

8. I cant wait till Christmas!

While you are studying for finals you have no recollection of the day, year, or time so, once they are over you can finally realize just how close Christmas is and can get excited about it!

9. What am I going to for a whole month?

What am I actually going to do for a whole month at home? There isn't anything to do there.... I am going to be so bored.

10. I can't wait to get back to my little sweet college town.

There always comes a point when you have been at home long enough and you just can't wait to get back to your college town.

It is always nice to be able to go home and take a break but no matter how good home is, your always ready to get back to your sweet college town!

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
