These 12 Movies Are Getting Some Buzz And Are Definitely On The Must-See List This Year!

We are about a little more then halfway through the year, an so far, all of the movies that have hit the big screen have been awesome. However, there are still more soon to be hits on the big screen. Here are 12 movies that you need to see this year because they are already making big buzz!

1. "Nine Lives"

Tom Brand decides to buy a cat for his daughter's birthday present. After a strange night, he wakes up stuck in the cat's body. In order to get back to his human self. he has to reconnect with his neglected family in one week or spend the rest of his days as Mr. Fuzzypants the cat.

2. "Finding Dory"

The lovable forgetful fish is back! Join Dory as she goes on the adventure to find her parents and learn about her past. Try to keep up with her though! She might get a little ... lost.

3. "The Space Between Us"

Meet Gardner Elliot, the first human to be born anywhere except Earth. Gardner was born on Mars, and spends most of his days on the internet reading and learning about Earth. He meets a girl named Tulsa, and they quickly become good friends. On a trip to Earth, Gardner decides that he does not want to return to Mars, and that he wants to just spend the rest of his days on Earth. However, his body is not equipped to handle Earth's atmosphere, and he surly will not survive long. Join Gardner as he runs from the Interplanetary agency with his new friend Tulsa.

4. "The Shallows"

Nancy Adam's decides to go on a beach vacation to help her clear her mind of her Mother passing away. While many warn Nancy that she should not go surfing alone, she doesn't listen and heads out on the water to catch some waves. After a sudden shark attack, Nancy is forced to swim to a rock. Injured, and yards from the shore, she is left to face the shark all alone. If only it weren't feeding time.

5. "BFG"

One night while Sophie is asleep, she hears a disturbance outside of her window. Upon inspecting it, she realizes that it's a giant! Not knowing much about giants, Sophie is terrified. Soon Sophie learns that this giant she has encountered is quite friendly, and she deems him, the B.F.G. (Big Friendly Giant) However, BFG warns Sophie that the other giants are not friendly at all, and that she needs to avoid them at all costs. Sophie devises a plan to seek out the help of Queen Victoria to get rid of all the bad giants, and in order to get to her, Sophie is going to need the help of her new friend, BFG to get there.

6. "GhostBusters"

The GhostBusters are back and more feminine than ever! Paranormal researcher Abby Yates and physicist Erin Gilbert are trying to prove that ghosts exist in modern society. When strange apparitions start to appear in Manhattan, they ask brilliant engineer Jillian Holtzmann to build special equipment. Also joining the team is Patty Tolan, a lifelong New Yorker who knows the city inside and out. Armed with proton packs and plenty of attitude, the four women prepare for an epic battle as more than 1,000 mischievous ghouls descend on Times Square.

7. "The Conjuring 2"

Back in 2013, "The Conjuring" was deemed one of the scariest movies that the big screen has seen in decades. Now, join the Warrens as the travel to England to investigate a haunted home. During their visit, one of the daughters in the house shows signs of being possessed, and it's not only her life that the Warren's are trying to save, but their own as well.


8. "Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children"

Miss Peregrine saves children with peculiar gifts from becoming social outcasts by bringing them into her secluded home. One day, Jake discovers the hideaway, but that might not be such a good thing. Safety is not a word that follows these peculiar children around, and enemies lurk in all of the shadows. Jake needs to figure out what is really going on, who he can place his trust in, and above all, who he is and how he fits into the grand scheme of things.

9. "Moana"

Maui, a once mighty and powerful Demi-god, and a thrill seeking teenager, Moana embark on a crazy and epic adventure across the ocean.

10. "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them"

Harry Potter fans listen up! "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is a part of J.K. Rowling's wizard universe and definetly will not be overshadowed by the "Harry Potter" franchise either! Join Newt Scamander, a Marizoologist who must track down an array of magical beasts in New York.

11. "The Secret Life of Pets"

Pet owners, have you ever thought about what your pets do while you're not home? Max is a terrier who enjoys a comfortable life in a New York building until his owner adopts Duke, a giant and unruly canine. During a walk outside, they encounter a group of ferocious alley cats and wind up in a truck that's bound for the pound. Luckily, a rebellious rabbit named Snowball swoops in to save the doggy duo from captivity. In exchange, Snowball demands that Max and Duke join his gang of abandoned pets on a mission against the humans who've done them wrong.

12. "Sausage Party"

All the food that sits on the supermarket shelves has ever dreamed about is being chosen to come home with a customer. One day, Frank the sausage is chosen with a group of his friends to finally make the trip to a home. The band of food thought they were in paradise until they realized that humans are food consumers. Join the gang as they devise a plan to escape human clutches and tell the others at the supermarket what really happens when someone buys you.
