Y'all I love Amy Winehouse and always will. Like role model (minus the drug addiction) kind of obsessed why is she so cool love. And I think it's awesome that London decided to add a statue of her to their beautiful city.
Amy Winehouse was known as the rebel/hippie hearty jazzy rock singer and her death will live on as a legacy to those who knew and loved her.
Now most recently deceased people don't get statues for any old reason, so this is kind of a big deal for those living in Camden (aka North London, Amy's hometown). The statue was revealed on September 14th, the day that would've been Amy's 31st birthday. Personally, when looking at the statue, I get a little freaked out. I mean look at the thing guys. Painfully skinny and adorned with a real flower, this statue is realistically terrifying. Nothing against Amy Winehouse, of course, because as I said earlier she's a great artist. But come on!! What is this thing?! I think they could've done a better job commemorating Winehouse's spirit with a memorial or park in her memory.
Amy Winehouse will live in our memory forever, especially with the scary statue we have to remind us everyday. Take a listen to her old school album Back to Black instead of having nightmares from simply looking at the statue.
