The Journey

How long have you been on your journey? I've been on mine for about 19 years. It has contained times of joy ad sadness. Many people have joined me, and many I left behind. However, one person has never left my side during this long trip. His name is Jesus. He has been around for every tear and every smile. Even when I was not focused on Him He was focused on me.He will be apart of my journey until the day I finally reach my destination.

We are all on a journey. We are all going to end up somewhere and each day we travel closer and closer to the finish line. My question is where are you at in your journey? Are you weak and tired, are you moving forward, or are you going backwards. Is your journey filled with joy, or filled with sorrow?

Regardless of where you are at in your journey one thing is affecting you. Faith. When we are moving forward in our journey we have an abundance of faith. We grab the Lords hand and walk happily along in life.Knowing whatever comes our way we can handle with our God at our side. When our faith is running low we become weak and don't have the strength to carry on.However, when we can't carry on, Jesus carries us. He picks us up and carries us along the path. When we have no faith, and Jesus is far from our minds we move backwards in our journey. This is where the Lord pleads with us. He begs us to turn around, to follow him.

In any situation he is there. We experience each stage of the journey over and over. This journey is not easy and it is long and tiresome, but gosh that destination. Oh the memories. Every journey tells a story of love, faith, and amazing grace. Your journey may be hard right now, but every time you have met a bump in the road Jesus has been there. Holding you in his arms when you feel like you can't go on. It is by his love only that you have made it through those rough spots. By his love he carried you out of the darkness and back to the lamp lit path. You will overcome the weakness by His amazing strength. He gives when we are in need, and he leads when we are lost. When we move backwards he runs after us. He will plead with us and remind us of all he has done for us. He will show us is love until our faith overwhelms our heart with joy and we run to our father's arms.

Thank God I'm on a journey. Thank God my journey hasn't been easy. Thank God He has never left my side. Thank God for my most beautiful final destination.Thank God I'm headed home.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
