Best Of 2015

2015 has ended, so lets look back at some of the best moments from the year...

1. Legalized gay marriage

YAAAAASSSS!!! This was a HUGE win for so many people! It was long overdue but we are all happy it was finally legalized.

2. Dress controversy

I still see white and gold, I'm sorry. I did see black and blue once, passed out from shock, and woke up to a white and gold dress taunting me.

3. The magnificent comeback of Justin Bieber

If you weren't a Belieber before, you sure are now. Justin Bieber's new album is PACKED with #1 hits that we can't help but belt in the shower.

What Do You Mean, Sorry, Love Yourself, Where Are U Now, and so many more. Not to mention the acoustic versions of these songs.

4. Lowering the confederate flag

We have a lot of work to do in this country in terms of acceptance and equality. However, seeing the confederate flag taken down was definitely a step in the right direction.

5. New Star Wars

The mania surrounding the new Star Wars movie was like no other. And it was well deserved because The Force Awakens definitely awoke all our inner nerds.

6. Netflix and Chill

This was an interesting trend that took off this year. In just three words we turned and innocent evening of binge-watching Breaking Bad and stuffing our faces with popcorn to the new and improved booty call.

7. #Squad

2015 was all about squad goals. We can thank Taylor Swift and her army of models and starlets for this one.

8. Hello

Justin wasn't the only one to drop an incredible new song in 2015. Adele will go down in the record books for writing songs we can belt to in the car with our friends or cry to in the shower when we are feeling down.

2015 was great and I know we are all excited to see what 2016 has in store! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
