Every adventure junkie knows that you can't go on a road trip without doing your research first. There's really no better feeling than being able to explore new places and crossing off moments from your bucket list, so I've created a short guide for those of you who are interested in dusting off your backpacks.
I recently traveled to the southwest region of the US and decided to take a road trip through most of Arizona and Utah and hit some iconic National Parks along the way. I did a lot of hiking and backpacking and spent most of my nights drinking whiskey around a fire and sleeping in a tent under the stars.
We were only really able to spend one night at each destination since we traveled so much in such a short amount of time (about a week or so). We still had a blast, but these parks are so breathtakingly large that we weren't able to experience them as a whole. So, I would recommend that you have enough time to spend at least a couple of nights at each spot. We spent a lot of time in the car driving between parks, but the scenery was so beautiful that we really didn't mind it!
