14 Things To Put On Your Fall Bucket List

I couldn't help but feel a little sad this week as I put away the last of my summer clothes, and reminisced on all of the memories I made this past warm, sunny summer. Every summer I make a bucket list of all of the exciting things I want to do while school is out of session. This led me to thinking, why don't we make bucket lists for the fall as well? Although we spend a lot of our time in class, there are still so many opportunities to take advantage of the beautiful season. So, here are the top things you should make sure to do this Fall.

1. Run a 5K

There are so many great organizations that sponsor 5Ks, and there are so many opportunities in the fall to sign up for one.

2. Spend a Sunday afternoon watching NFL football

This is one of my favorite things about fall. There is always a game to watch on Sundays!

3. Tailgate

Get your friends together and go to a game!

4. Buy a pumpkin spice latte

We wait all year for the return of this latte. Make sure to get a few before we have to say goodbye to them for another year.

5. Go on a hike

Fall, in my opinion, is the most beautiful season. We wait all year for this beautiful season to arrive, so enjoy it while it lasts!

6. Go to a petting zoo

One of my girlfriends just did this with her boyfriend, and said that it was the best date of her life.

7. Watch scary movies and make apple cider

Nothing is better that cuddling on a chilly autumn day with a hot cup of apple cider and a scary movie to get you in the mood for Halloween.

8. Bake

There are so many great fall recipes. Make pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, or pumpkin anything.

9. Carve a jack-o-lantern

Bring back childhood memories and spend an evening carving pumpkins.

10. Go fall clothes shopping

Fall provides you with an excuse to take a trip to the mall to buy an oversized sweater, fall boots, or scarf.

11. Donate to charity

The fall and winter months are miserable for people who don't have warm clothes. Find a charity and donate to those in need.

12. Have a campfire

Grab your blankets, s'mores and friends and cuddle around the fire. This is a great way to make memories this fall season.

13. Make your own Halloween costume

You can be as creative or simple as you want to be! You'll have a blast putting together your costume.

14. Go to a country concert

Wear your flannel and enjoy a great concert.

Happy fall everybody!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
