Growing up, everyone tells you that being nice will get you places in life. They never mentioned that there is a difference between being nice, and being too nice. We were taught that being nice consisted of if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say it at all. When you are someone who is too nice, this means that you barely get to talk even if it isn't something mean. As you grow older, you start to believe that being too nice to everyone in your life will just lead to believing that nice guys always finish last. Being too nice has it's upside and downside to it. Here are some truths about being too nice...

1. Always making others happy

Usually being too nice means that you are always making others happy before yourself. In any given situation you start to worry about if others aren't happy, then it affects your own happiness.

2. Always saying "yes"

Being too nice means that you are afraid to say no to anyone because you think it will make people like you less. You always find yourself saying yes to everything little situation in the world. A friend asks you to take them to the mall during a rain storm, and you say yes because you think what they need is really important and it probably can't wait. You find yourself in rare situations where you actually say no to someone or something. Usually with always saying yes, you also find your bank account to be kind of low due to always spotting someone for something.

3. People always walk all over you

Everyone uses you for any situation because they know that you won't say no. Everyone walks all over you and just expects you to be okay with it. Yes, you may not mind a few times that someone walks over you, but not every day of your life.

4. Being friends with everyone

Being so nice brings you many friends because everyone wants someone who is nice to them in their lives. The downside of being friends with everyone is that if a couple friends have a fight, you are put in the middle of the situation.

5. Being too friendly

When talking to someone new in your life, you may or may not have an interest in them but they always seem to take you guys talking as friends to the extreme.

6. Expected to be nice all the time

Everyone around you is allowed to have a mean day every now and then but as soon as you start to act mean everyone thinks it's their fault. Also having this expectation means that no one thinks that you have a mean bone in your body. They think that if you curse that's mean to some people because they aren't used to you being "mean."

7. Always being described as "nice"

Everyone just describes you as "nice" and nothing else. They only can picture talking about you as nice. Please use other words to describe someone who is too nice because they have other qualities to them than just being nice.
