As the break comes closer and closer the holiday spirit is getting harder to contain. Over this long break whether it is just hanging out with friends or eating some cookies with the family, a funny interesting movie is always a great relaxing activity to do. Their are some legendary ones and some that definitely do not get the credit they deserve. This article will help make the selection of having to go through all of the holiday movies not a problem anymore. It is short, sweet, and to the point!
1. Elf
This movie is an all time favorite for anyone of any age. The story is about an elf named Buddy who got stuck in Santa's bag and is raised in the North Pole. He soon enough finds out he is not an elf and is on a mission to find his real parents. Buddy travels to New York and meets his family. I don't want to spoil the movie for people who haven't seen it (although I highly recommend they do) but Buddy is the savior of Christmas night. This movie is such a classic and is so hilarious. Will Ferrell nailed this part. Elf is my absolute favorite movie for the holidays and gets better every time one watches it.
2. Home Alone
Home Alone is one of those movies that every little kid can relate too. The main character, Kevin, gets left home alone when his family leaves without him to go on vacation. He spends Christmas and the break by himself doing whatever he wants. Of course their is the challenge of making food, having no presents to open, and the robbers. Two men try to break into the McCallister house and steal there belongings. Kevin being the smart kid he is sets traps up all around the house. Home Alone is a classic that will surely be a top holiday movie for a while.
3. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
This movie has to be one of the funniest christmas movies I have seen. The main character Clark Griswold is trying to make this Christmas a perfect one, so he goes all out and does these ridiculous things. Like forgetting tools needed to cut down a tree so the family has to pull the tree out of the ground with the car! Or even covering the house with 25,000 christmas lights but when the lights are turned on it causes a temporary city wide power shortage, With a couple more bumps in the way, he eventually figures everything out and enjoying time with his family. Clark realizes that things do not have to be perfect in order to have a "good old-fashioned family christmas".
