She’s got some good taste, if I say so myself.

The Top 12 Percy Jackson Characters, But According To My Little Sister

In This Article:

I remember days in middle school when I would dream about being apart of the Percy Jackson universe. I would get so giddy reading the books and had so much fun talking with my friends about our favorite characters, who our parents would be, who we would be friends with. So you can imagine how glad I was to hear that my youngest sister was just as obsessed with the series as I was. We share a lot of our nerdy interests and I think the fictional worlds she's exploring have really opened her mind and given her a vibrant imagination. She really wanted to me write this and I thought, since Disney announced the new Percy Jackson series recently, may as well! So here are the top twelve Percy Jackson (and Heroes of Olympus) characters and why, according to my sister.

Nico di Angelo

Nico di Angelo

She describes Nico as an adorable ten year old kid. He had been depressed but was supported by his friends when he came out to them. “There's not much of an explanation, I just like him."

Jason Grace

Jason Grace

Jason is an awesome hero and she loves the vibe he puts off, as well as his powers.

Percy Jackson

Percy Jackson

She describes Percy as the greatest hero. Although she likes Jason more, she thinks Percy is better at combat and wielding a sword. “He also has a lot of sass and he can be kinda stupid sometimes.”

Annabeth Chase

Annabeth Chase

She says that Annabeth is really smart and she proves that you can be good at combat with out yielding powers.

Leo Valdez

Leo Valdez

Leo puts off a stupid vibe and is kinda egotistical. I love it, but we know he is holding a lot of sadness and tries to be happy for everyone else.

(Not gonna lie, a little salty about this one.)

Will Solace

Will Solace

Will is the son of Apollo (who my sister claims would also be her parent if she were a demigod). He can do it all: healing, archery, “probably singing”, and is very positive.

Luke Castellan

Luke Castellan

Luke ended up being a hero, but she feels bad that he had to die. He realized his mistakes and she thinks he should have made it to the end.

Reyna Ramírez-Arellano

Reyna Ram\u00edrez-Arellano

Reyna is a strong independent woman who she says was a good praetor. “I think she should still be a praetor but she broke some rules so..."

Grover Underwood

Grover Underwood

Grover is a great best friend to Percy and Annabeth and he supports them and goes with them on life threatening quests and is a good protector.

Clarisse La Rue

Clarisse La Rue

“A few people have said I could be Clarisse and honesty I'm fine with that ‘cause she's tough and cool.“ I have to agree, she could be Clarisse.

Coach Hedge

Coach Gleeson Hedge

She said that Coach Hedge thinks he's all that and she think it's funny. But I have to say, I’m not the biggest fan, personally.

Mr. D (Dionysus)

Mr. D

“Mr. D always gets people's names wrong and it's funny and when he's serious he's scary.” I always found him to be a very memorable and likable character, as well.

I have to say, we have some different opinions on who the actual best are, but this is a pretty solid list. Thank you, Gracie, for wanting to put together this list!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
