There is nothing better than curling up on a cold day with a blanket and a good book or taking your book to the beach on a hot summer day. Really, any time is the perfect time to read. I’ve read quite a few books and I have a lot of favorites. Here is a list of my life-changing books so far.
Go Back and Be Happy by Julie Papievis
This book changed my outlook on life. I remember reading the last page and sitting there for a good 20 minutes after, just reflecting upon how our lives can change drastically within seconds. Whenever I feel myself taking something for granted, I think about this book. Her true story really made me appreciate life and know I shouldn’t ever give up.
Miracle on the 17th Green by James Patterson/Peter de Jonge
Not going to lie, this was a clearance book I found and I only bought it because I liked the cover. I know that is a terrible reason to buy a book, but I’m glad I did end up buying it. Sometimes, it can be hard for me to get into books. I usually have to put it down for a while and then I’ll eventually get back into it, but not this book. I could not put this book down.
The Five People you meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom
I read this book in a day because it was so good. It really made me think about the people that have gone through my life that I might not even realized help shape me.
The Search for Delicious by Natalie Babbitt
I first read this book in fourth grade and I have loved it ever sense. I still have my original copy that is ripped and torn; it just shows how much I love this book. Looking for some very easy reading, I highly recommend this book.
The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank
I read this book in 7th grade and it really changed my life. I did not know anything about the Holocaust before reading this book and once I found out it is a true story; I read it over and over again. I cannot imagine going though the thing Anne and her family went through, along with everyone else affected by the Holocaust.
The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne
I read this book freshman year of high school and several times since then. I would say that this book is my go to book for any feeling. I have always loved this one.
Yes Please by Amy Poehler
Although this book did not get the best of reviews (um why though?) it is still one of my absolute favorites. First off, I love Amy Poehler. She is funny, cute, and badass of a woman. Second, I love this book because it is all about self- empowerment and that girls can literally do anything.
Night Sounds, Morning Colors by Rosemary Wells
This is one of my favorite children’s books. My nana used to read this to me when I was younger and I remember the illustrations brought the detailed words to life. This book will always hold a special place in my heart and on my bookshelf.
The Help by Kathryn Stockett
I saw the movie first. I know that is awful but I really love the movie, but I love the book even more. I love the storyline and it is an overall great book.
Matilda by Roald Dahl
This is the book that started my love for reading. I am not sure how young I was when I first read this, but I know it has been one of my favorites for as long as I can remember. I had a hand mixer and a red ribbon for my hair, just like Matilda did.
