The Stress Is Worth It

It may not seem like it now, but the stress will be worth it.

The Stress Is Worth It

Stress is something that comes and goes in everyones life. It may be caused by work, class, family, or friendship. Usually my stress comes out when I'm back in school and am super busy. I have already noticed the change from the summer. I know I may be back at my dream college, but that doesn't mean the year is going to be stress free. I have to find a balance between each and every aspect of my life to try and be as stress free as possible.

I really noticed my stress coming alive this year was when I was in my second week at school feeling completely overwhelmed. This year I have six classes, a campus job and I am Student Senate and Student Body President. On top of that, I have a job back home that I work every now and then, I am in the middle of my first pageant season, and I want to keep in contact with my family and boyfriend back home. Let's just say that's a lot to balance in college.

I know I have to figure out a study schedule, working on Student Government projects, exercising and having fun as well. Sure, I am in my second year of college, but that doesn't mean my year is going to be stress free. There is no way; and that's OK.

So college students, yes you are going to stress. Believe me. You are going to stress...it's normal! Just know that no matter what happens, everything will work out. Yes, I may be telling myself right now that I have too much to get done, but I know that eventually, all the stress will be worth it all. I keep telling myself, you are going to look back on your graduation day and appreciate all you put yourself through to get to where you are at now.

Embrace the stress. It will be worth it once you are sitting in your future home with your significant other and your kitty and kids. Then, the stress you went through in college will be worth it.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
