To me, going to a concert can become an all day activity. From waking up in the morning, until the moment my head hits that pillow that night, I have what some could call 'concert fever'. And thus, I take the day of in a process that repeats with every concert... and here it is.
1. Waking up early the morning of.
Sometimes you have to wait in line or drive three hours just to see your favorite band. So to me, it's less stressful if I just get up earlier, and give myself extra time to be excited!
2. Waiting in line for hours on end.
For the most part, waiting in line is crazy boring. Sometimes the time seems to drag on for hours just because of your amount of excitement and the need to get into the arena.
3. Finally seeing the gates go up and running in to get a good spot.
This is easily the most stressful part of the day. Some people trample others just to get ahead in line by one more person. It can be scary in some cases, but you just gotta push through and stay in the crowd!
4. Getting your spot and waiting for the artist/band.
After a full day of preparation and waiting, this part can feel the longest. And often, it becomes impossible to contain the excitement!
5. Becoming so overwhelmed when the artist finally steps on stage.
No matter how many concerts I go to, this feeling never seems to get any less. I can never get over that initial feeling of excitement watching an artist perform live right before my eyes. And no matter how much money people say I "waste" on concerts, I will keep going. I love that feeling of excitement and the feeling of the crowd and the artist feeding off each other to create an overall amazing experience time and time again.
6. And PCD (post-concert depression) is real.
The day after a concert is always the saddest. You always want to go back to the night before and keep reliving the night, and the motivation to get out of bed just isn't there.
