Somehow, it is already the end of April. With that being said, this is the time of the year that college students are FREAKING OUT! We thought we had plenty of time to do projects, papers, and study for exams. As for myself, I caught myself saying, "Oh, it's due in April? I have plenty of time then!" Well, flash forward to now, I am realizing I do not have plenty of time anymore. It seems like due dates are creeping up on everyone, and the library is becoming more crowded every single day. College students seem to go through the same stages when it comes to dealing with the end of the semester.
1. You think you have plenty of time to get all your work accomplished.
When you're given all your assignments in January, April and May seem extremely far away. Therefore, it feels like you have plenty of procrastination time. However, February is super short, March goes by quickly because of spring break, and then before you know it, it's already Easter. Looks like you're going to be having a lot of late nights in the library.
2. You still think you can get it done in a short period of time, so you procrastinate even more.
Sure, a 10 page paper seems like a lot of work. However, you totally think you have this in the bag! Why would you want to start this paper a couple weeks in advance when you could totally crank it out in one night?
3. You definitely don't even attempt to do your work on the weekends.
You could get a head start on that huge project that's worth 50% of your grade, but you could also go out to a party with all your friends. I mean, 50% is not worth that much, right? The weekend is meant for relaxation and fun, so you don't even bother picking up a textbook!
4. You realize how behind you really are.
At this point, it's not looking good for you. You have a ton of stuff due next week and a couple of exams. You think to yourself, "why did I do this to myself again?" You might shed a tear or two, but you tell yourself that you have to get your work done.
5. You start to do your work, and you are starting to feel accomplished.
So at this point, you are feeling really good about yourself. You've started that huge paper, and you're almost done with that dreaded group project!
6. The work really starts to pile up, and you start to think about how much easier it would be to drop out.
You know your parents would probably be so angry with you, but if you drop out, that means no more work! But this could also mean no more dream job... You're very conflicted.
7. Somehow, you get it all done.
It may not be the prettiest pieces of work you have ever created, but it will at least get you the passing grade you need! You look back and wonder how the heck you actually got it all done. It only took 20 cups of coffee and a few all nighters.
8. You passed all your classes; you're free!
Although you don't know how you did it, but you somehow got all the grades you needed. Now you have a couple of months off, but you can't wait to do it all over again next semester!
