The Secret Of Makeup: Debunked

What Makeup lovers around the world want you to know: We Do Not Care.

The Secret Of Makeup: Debunked

For hundreds of years, the cosmetics industry has gotten more and more popular. What started out as being popular with women, now has men are starting to get into makeup. As a makeup lover myself seeing men doing makeup and become makeup artists warms my heart. I look up to many artists who are boys, one being Manny MUA. You can find him on youtube, I watch him religiously. For me, makeup is a way I can express myself because I have no sense of fashion or cool hair ideas. I believe that my style in makeup is out of the box and matches my personality very well. However, many people question me on my makeup. I am often asked if I wear makeup solely for the purpose of pleasing the male gender. Not to worry my friends, although it's nice that boys notice and compliment the time I put into beating this face, I do not wear makeup for your pleasure.

I started wearing makeup when I was just 12 years old. I told my mom I felt ugly and so for my birthday we went out. I got a makeover at Macy's and we bought the makeup. I started experimenting with it in my room and took pictures of myself, which mostly consisted of me just wearing black eyeliner, mascara, and bright blue eyeshadow. When I was old enough to buy my makeup, I started wearing different colors and began wearing liquid eyeliner and red lipstick. This was also around the time I started binge watching makeup tutorials instead of going outside or doing homework.

Now, for those people who consistently ask "who are you looking good for?" "are you trying to impress a boy?" "why did you get all dressed up today?" Nay nay my friends. Nay. I want to reiterate myself, I do not, nor will never, wear makeup for a boy. I do not wear makeup for anybody for that matter. I do not wear makeup to impress you or your next-door neighbor. If I'm going, to be honest here, nobody deserves the amount of time and effort I have in putting on makeup. Yes, some days it takes about thirty minutes to put it on, others it takes two or three hours.

For those who say, "You're wearing too much makeup!" "That's not enough makeup!" "But you look so pretty without makeup!" "why do you spend so much money on makeup?" "Boys don't like girls who cake makeup on!!" Well, honey, I have news for you, I do not care about what you think. I do not care about how much I have on whether it be not enough or too much. I do not care if a boy likes that I have none or too much. Nobody has any right to tell me what I can and cannot do with my body. So if I want to go makeup free for the day, then that's none of your business. If I want to beat this face and perfect this damn winged eyeliner, then I will do so.

No amount of makeup is too much or too little. I wear makeup because it makes me feel good about myself. As a person with many face image issues, I love wearing makeup. I like that I can kind of disguise myself or enhance my features a little more. I have always had a baby face and hated it, but with makeup, I can make myself appear older. Makeup makes me feel confident and strong like I can conquer the world and I probably could with these on fleek eyebrows and perfect eyeliner. I am magnificent at the makeup that I do, and the more I experiment and practice the better I become.

So don't let anybody question you on how much makeup you wear or who you wear it for. Be who you want to be and work the world of cosmetics. Makeup is such an amazing art, and I have so much respect for those who are professionals and work hard for their brands to have proper names. Nobody can tell you what you can or cannot do with your body because it is yours and only yours. The great thing about makeup is that makeup is completely genderless! Slay away you magical sun-kissed contoured goddess!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
