The Red String
Every beginning starts with a red string.
A legend says that it ties one soul to another lighting a perfect match.
You pull and follow it, drawing another life closer for you are just a step away in finding the one God promised you.
You are just a step away until...It’s him. You’ve found the one connected to you.
And then love takes over. Love is the strength of the string as “it is patient, it is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves.”
Then Time and Distance shakes the string developing doubts.
The red string is immovable on you, but to him, can he easily strip it off?
Is it unstable on him as you fear that time and distance may have changed the way he has looked at you?
He might see you as how you value you, and that’s how he fell out of love.
The red string becomes loose on him for it gets an inch looser from when he realizes that you aren’t the smartest girl he has met therefore, you don’t have a steady job for the future.
It gets an inch weaker when he notices your appearance like how you perceive yours in the mirror.
It gets fragile as seeing each other every day is too much to him.
It started to mean nothing as he comprehends that you aren’t amazing as he once thought you were.
It gets untied as you realize that he doesn’t love you anymore.
Fear makes love so delicate, when it is such a powerful thing.
But in all honesty, everyone has the thought of fear of wondering if there will be the day he cuts the string. You will always fear for the day he stops loving you.
The string will always linger on your fingers, but nothing will be tied to his and that will be the hardest moment of your life. When you have to slowly untie the red string to live.
