Everyone knows the cliche high school dynamic with the preps, jocks, cheerleaders, band geeks, nerds, etc. Hollywood makes these really inspirational movies about the kids that seem like they are invisible then they graduate and they are successful and the popular kids are dead beats that did not amount to very much after they left high school. I don't think that anyone really considered how those kids that were fortunate enough to peak in high school feel about those type of movies. I bet you that most of those kids are either terrified that they will not amount to anything after high school and they will be unhappy for the rest of their lives. This is a letter to those girls.
Dear girl who peaked in high school,
First off congratulations on the fact that you were fortunate enough to be pretty, smart, athletic, or what ever you were good at in high school. I would also like to pass along a warning. People out there in this modern day society are watching you, expecting too much from you, and waiting for you to fail. Do not under any circumstances give them that pleasure of watching you do exactly what they want you to and not amount to much after high school. You can do anything, just like those kids that no one seemed to notice in high school can. Hollywood dramatizes this kids as super heroes and inspirational icons, which they are, but they are just high school kids. You are just a high school kid to which means you have all of the same opportutinities and abilities that they have. Do not let these horrible people waiting for you to slip up scare you. They are just people with nothing else better to do, so when you do slip up, brush your self off, put a big smile on your face and use that mess up as motivation to keep going to prove these people wrong. Do not worry about things like only being able to peak once in life because Honey the best books have multiple climaxes in their stories. You are going to be great in the rest of your life. Now you just have to find another foothold and hold on. There is another passion that you have not found just yet, but you will, and when you do you will flourish and prove all of those people wrong. You will also be so proud of yourself and you will be happy. Do not be scared or too cautious because you think that you are not going to be okay, I promise you that everything will be alright. You just have to stay strong, push through, find your passion, and reap the rewards of a long, successful and happy life time.
